I am Edwin Nikkels. In the age of AI, I connect creative vision with execution, education with industry, and policy with practice. Drawing on 25 years of experience across advertising, entertainment, interactive, and education, I bring clarity and direction to how people and organisations create, learn, and adapt with AI.
In my natural habitat on the Western Islands in Amsterdam, where historic warehouses, waterfront studios and independent minds meet. From here, I work with people and organizations worldwide.

What a rush. Reaching the Amsterdam final of the Google × The One Club AI Creative Challenge by creating complete commercials from scratch in just ten minutes. From concept and storytelling to image, voice-over, music and final edit, the competition demonstrated my ability to direct, produce and deliver under extreme pressure.
2. Workshops & Education – Through workshops, lectures, and learning programs, I make AI understandable, practical, and creatively relevant. I help professionals, educators, and students develop confidence, critical judgement, and the skills to work with AI without outsourcing their thinking. Book a workshop here.
From AI Zero to AI Hero. AI Bootcamp takes you from idea to finished film, with hands-on guidance from me, an experienced film director. Bringing generative AI to Dutch public broadcasting. At Media Park Hilversum, I led hands-on AI workshops as part of the NPO X OASIS program, working directly with teams from broadcasters including NTR and HUMAN. Together, we explored how generative AI can become part of the creative process, from understanding the technology to putting it into practice.
3. Strategy & Vision – I help organizations integrate AI into their people, culture, and everyday workflows. Moving beyond experiments and isolated tools, I build clear and responsible ways of working that support adoption, keep people in control of creative decisions, and create lasting change. As a member of Mediacollege Amsterdam’s AI Taskforce, I contributed to organisation-wide policy and strategy for AI integration, helping define priorities and translate technological developments into a practical direction for the institution.
Speaking at the 2026 Paradiso debate on Generative AI and the future of the cultural and creative sector, alongside creators, cultural leaders and national politicians. My conviction: AI transition begins not with technology or policy, but with people, through experience, dialogue and the confidence to shape that change.
