AI Transition Manager – I help creative organizations integrate AI into their people, culture, and everyday workflows. Moving beyond experiments and isolated tools, I build clear and responsible ways of working that support adoption, protect creative quality and authorship, and create lasting change. AI Educator - Through workshops, lectures, hackathons, and learning programs, I make AI understandable, practical, and creatively relevant. AI Director & Producer - From concept and storyboarding to prompt engineering, previsualisation, and AI-powered production, I create films and visual content for advertising and entertainment. I bring craft, taste, and creative direction to every frame, safeguarding story, visual coherence, and quality throughout the process.
Method
My work is guided by Creative Intelligence - Human creativity leads, while machine intelligence supports or executes. I don’t begin with tools or trends. I begin with intent, story, and authorship: what we want to say, how meaning is shaped, and who decides. From there, technology is used to extend creative possibilities, accelerate production, and reduce friction. It does not decide what matters. It helps meaningful ideas take shape.

Edwin Nikkels is an AI Educator, AI Transition Manager, and AI Director & Producer based in Amsterdam. His career spans international advertising, entertainment, interactive media, and creative education. Today, he helps people and organizations understand AI, integrate it into their work, and use it to create meaningful audiovisual content. Across education, transition, and production, his focus remains consistent: human authorship, creative quality, and technology in service of intent.

The streets of Paris are wet. The engines are hot. Love is in the air. On Place Vendôme, a gunmetal Aston Martin and a red Ferrari begin a passionate courtship of power, speed and seduction. They circle, chase and challenge each other until the duel becomes a dance and two very sexy cars finally kiss. Geared for Love is a high-octane romance created with generative AI.
What can six Dutch public broadcasters create with AI in just a few hours? That was the challenge at the NPO X OASIS AI Hackathon at Media Park Hilversum. Teams from NTR, Omroep MAX, HUMAN, PowNed, KRO-NCRV and VPRO turned original ideas into short films. As one of the AI coaches, I guided them from first concept to final frame.
What if AI could make the climate crisis impossible to ignore? This experimental film for Greenpeace uses generative AI as a tool for good, transforming climate data into a visual story that reveals the scale and urgency hidden inside abstract numbers. “When you can see it, you can change it.”
